I am so freaking tired of having to pee. SO. FREAKING. TIRED. Since about the sixth week of pregnancy, I think I’ve peed about a million times. No exaggeration, there are days when I literally pee 20 times in one day! Five times in an hour! Sometimes I’ll pee, walk out of the bathroom, and walk straight back in and pee again!
And I’m not talking just a tinkle here and there. No, these are full-on peeing sessions. And I’m tired of it.
No, literally, I am so tired. The peeing doesn’t stop because it’s the middle of the night and I’m sleeping. Nope, not at all. On the nights when I’m not awoken by nausea, I still wake up every few hours to pee. I haven’t slept more than four hours in a row since August. AUGUST. Do you realize how long ago that was?
I know there are normal, biological reasons for this – I’m drinking a shit ton more water now, there’s an influx of hormones in my body (HCG – I thought you were my friend!), and my cervix is pressing against my bladder as the baby grows. But I also think this is Mother Nature’s way of preparing me for life post-baby, when I’ll have to wake up every few hours for feedings and whatnot. So I guess this is a good thing…?
And apparently it all gets worse once you hit the third trimester. Gee, can’t wait.
I didn’t pee a ton in my first trimester like they say, but I pee a ton now too. Some days I’m not as good at drinking, but I still pee. And not always a ton. Sometimes I stand up and realize I feel like I’m going to explode, and then I go pee like, a tablespoon. It’s so ridiculous. I have to go THAT BAD for THAT LITTLE?!
I’m saying!! I’m not too good with drinking all the extra water either – it feels like such a hassle sometimes! Then I get a severe headache and I’m like damn, shoulda just drank that water.
I got really bad headaches for a few weeks but was drinking TONS of water! I think it was the hormones! I haven’t had one in awhile now! It is definitely a hassle. I do fine some days and some days not as great. Ah well! Can’t be perfect!
Sorry to be the honest one here…. yes it gets much worse in the third trimester ! Thought the second was bad enough I was like you and I weren’t popular at work with that either as you would gather ! Good luck with it all though 🙂 xxx
Haha thanks! I am SO lucky that I work from home! Can’t even imagine all the frequent bathroom breaks – or worse, having to pee during my commute!
I’ve joked with my husband also that me having to pee throughout the night is giving me practice on how to walk through the house like a zombie and not run into things. I think I peed twice an hour throughout the first trimester but its subsiding a bit now, thank goodness.
Haha well apparently it’s only gonna get worse, so enjoy the downtime while you have it!
